Description
The 5.00-19 Dunlop Racing 5-Stud tire is by far the best choice for track use. Dunlop’s 5-Stud tread pattern was the pattern used for racing cars in 1934. A 3-Stud tread pattern was available for earlier cars. Unfortunately these aren’t available anymore as they stopped production of these. The 3-Stud pattern was too old fashioned and the 5-Stud tread pattern just works dramatically better .
The size 5.00-19 is a common size among vintage racing cars. For example, Bugatti’s type 51 and Type 43 fitted the size 5.00-19 and while cars like the Frazer Nash originally would have 4.50-19 tires fitted, you will notice that also a lot of these cars have Dunlop’s 5.00-19 5-Stud tires fitted. Simply because the Dunlop Racing carcass is the best for vintage racing.
